Craftsmanship skills have been in our family for four generations. My father, myself and now my children have followed a path set in place by my grandfather. For me, it began as I accompanied my father in his custom home building business. He gave me the opportunity to learn the various trades as a helper and apprentice to the skilled crafts and trades people. However, I ventured down another path after nine years of working with him and upon completing college.
However, almost every weekend for years I happily donned a tool belt, grabbed my tools and addressed the unending homeowner's To-Do list for my family and friends. Simply stated, woodcraft is in my blood. Its a passion that gives me a great feeling of accomplishment in all sizes, forms and materials. It allows me to express creativity and presents challenges that reward me with interesting results. And, yes, sometimes expensive firewood. I enjoy the journey either way.
