A little history on this item. First, people might refer to this item as a hollow form, center piece or bowl. It will be your choice as to what you call it. Second, I made it from a holly tree that a friend removed because it simply grew too big and was beginning to damage his home. So, we decided to give some of the larger pieces a second life.
Its top view boasts mother nature's awesome spalting artwork. Also, I was able to retain some of the live edge. Look closely and you might see a tree in the large piece of live edge. You will notice a few cracks that opened up as I worked this piece. They have been filled with epoxy and ground turquoise stone to give them some character. Its diameter is 11" and it stands 5" high. A food safe finish has been applied just in case you are inclined to place dry items in it.
