Yes, this item was made from a walnut tree felled by hurricane Sandy in my neighborhood. Thanks to a neighbor and my son we were able to reclaim most of the tree. I have patiently waited for it to dry for several years. The wood from this tree is finding new life as bowls, vases, candle bases and an assortment of office gear such as pens, pencils, letter openers...you get the idea. I will keep findings new ways to re-purpose this tree.
Anyway, its diameter is 3.0", stands 5.0" high and weighs 5.0 oz. It just looks like an industrious sole. So, feel free to put it to work holding your desk items.
